One property of moringa oil that distinguishes it from many other carrier oils is its high content of behenic acid. Moringa oil contains approximately 5-10% behenic acid, making it one of the richest natural sources of this saturated fatty acid among carrier oils.

Behenic acid has unique emollient properties, which contribute to its ability to deeply moisturize and condition the skin and hair. It forms a protective barrier on the skin's surface, helping to lock in moisture and prevent trans-epidermal water loss.

Additionally, behenic acid provides a smooth and silky texture, making moringa oil particularly beneficial for dry and rough skin, as well as for managing frizz and enhancing shine in haircare products.
